Urgent Appeal for Maintenance and Safety Improvements at BJ Block Park

We are writing to draw your immediate attention to the deteriorating condition of the BJ Block Park. The once vibrant and safe community space is now facing serious neglect and numerous issues, which are affecting the health, safety, and overall environment of our locality.

  1. Walking Track in Disrepair: The walking track is in a dangerous state, with broken and slippery surfaces. This poses a serious risk to all visitors, especially senior citizens and children who frequent the park.

  2. Unclean Environment: The park is littered with food waste, drink containers, and other rubbish. The lack of regular cleaning is turning the park into an unsanitary place, discouraging residents from visiting.

  3. Clogged Drains: Drainage systems in the park are clogged with plastic waste and other filth, leading to water stagnation. During rainfall, the overflow creates a messy and unpleasant situation, further exacerbating the cleanliness problem.

  4. Overgrown Grass: The grass has not been trimmed for years, giving the park an unkempt and neglected appearance. This is not only visually unappealing but also provides hiding spots for pests and rodents.

  5. Damaged Fencing: The fences around the football field are broken, bent, and severely damaged. This condition poses safety hazards and makes it difficult for children to play securely.

  6. Security Concerns: Unidentified individuals frequently visit the park, and there have been incidents where couples engage in questionable behavior, making it an inappropriate environment for children. This lack of safety discourages families from bringing their children to the park.

  7. Loss of Native Flora and Fauna: Trees are being cut down regularly, leading to the disappearance of native flora and fauna. The loss of greenery has resulted in increased dust and other forms of pollution, which have severely impacted the residents of BJ Block.

As residents, we are deeply concerned about the ongoing neglect and rapid deterioration of the park. We kindly request your good offices to take concrete and prompt action to restore the park's cleanliness, safety, and natural environment. Addressing these issues would greatly benefit the residents and restore the park as a vital community space for all.
