In a crackdown operation, police have arrested seven individuals involved in a prostitution racket operating under the guise of a guesthouse in BJ Block of Bidhannagar East police station in Salt Lake. Acting on secret information, law enforcement officials conducted a late-night raid on Saturday, apprehending the guest house manager, four employees, and three customers. Three girls were rescued from the premises and subsequently placed in a shelter home.
Complaints had been mounting over several days regarding suspicious activities at house number 301 of BJ Block in Salt Lake, prompting the police intervention. During the raid, authorities found three girls alongside three customers. Following interrogation, the manager and employees of the guest house, along with the customers, were taken into custody, signaling a significant crackdown on illegal activities in the area.

It should be noted that residents of BJ Block have repeatedly complained about alleged illicit activities at the BJ 301 guest house (সল্টলেকে বি জে ব্লক). Concerns have been raised about a possible sleaze racket operating from this location, with men and women observed entering and leaving at odd hours every day.
Guests house like these are actually sleaze dens and also operate as massage services provider in Salt lake sector 2 and as spa with full service providers. We are sure you understand what service means!
It is shameful and especially given that local children and old people cannot walk comfortably on the roads.
In 2022, another raid was conducted by the Bidhannagar East police station earlier this week. Here too several men and women were caught in compromising positions and picked up. Officers, however, are not revealing details as investigation is still on.
A senior officer of the Bidhannagar commissionerate said they were keeping a close watch on houses that were unoccupied as they had received information and complaints that several were being used as sleaze dens, keeping their owners in the dark.
“We will also monitor guest houses. There is a sizeable number of houses in Salt Lake whose owners don’t stay there and those are left at the mercy of caretakers,” said the officer.
